Green Again

Originally released in 2018, this record features four cuts that draw influence from Chicago’s storied past. The EP leads with a shuffling chord-heavy chugger littered with disembodied vocal chops, followed by a twisted and tweaked out disco dub. The B-side contains two acid tracks. The first brings together a cauldron of heavy vibes with earie chords, an inquisitive old school vocal, syncopated acid squelches, and a keyboard lick that might remind you of the classic TV show X-Files. The last cut is a back to basics winding mid-tempo acid builder, created using dusty Roland gear. The last track is what happens when a 909, 808, 303, and a spoken word get shook up on a hot Summer day. Some say we need to understand our past to make plans for the future. This record is a meditation on the fundamentals. This is Audio Soul Project stepping back into the music world after an 8-year hiatus – this is the foundation, the first step on ASP’s new journey.
